Cowboy for a Cure Inc. A Non-Profit
5o1(c)(3) EIN 32-0797704
In March 2011, the founder, Johnny Warnshuis, began a horseback ride across the country. From Northern California to New York City. The ride took nearly two years to complete, ending at Times Square. In late 2012. He dubbed it"Cowboy for a Cure" as the miles accumulated on horseback, so would the number of people he would meet. Cowboy for a Cure began raising awareness of (GBS) Guillain-Barré Syndrome. A disease that had debilitated his mother in late 2009. As Johnny rode, the awareness grew; he met more people who had experienced similar situations and hardships. The relevance became obvious, and the raising awareness part was significant in many ways.
By the time Johnny reached the Big Apple in 2013, the campaign had included Autism, John Wayne Cancer, and The Breast Cancer Foundation, as well as Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and St. Jude's Children's Hospital. No longer just raising awareness, but bringing people together and doing something about it.
The "Cowboy for a Cure" campaign continues its mission today by guest speaking and fundraising for charitable organizations, churches, and schools. Johnny tells the "tales from the trail," stories of the adventures and perils on horseback, as he shares Sally's story, relating the adversities and triumphs we all face. The non-profit becomes an entity, no longer just a lonesome cowboy but an organization of many working together to come up with solutions and cures for those in need. Cowboy for a Cure desires to become a solid platform that supports many. We encourage you to join with us in our efforts to make a difference.
1 Corinthians 9:24 Let us run this race before us as not to lose, let us run this race with perseverance, and win the prize, the Crown.
